As you all know the kids love books, they are a major part of the bedtime routine, the chill out time and the ‘I don’t know what else to do’ time!

Dr Duck is a book full of delightful animals who are a bit poorly sick. Dr Duck comes to the rescue with his own touch of fixing things! It is really well written, the illustrations are fantastic and best of all it is hilarious!   This book has very quickly earned a spot as top book in our house! Both the Monkey and the Mouse are asking for this book over and over again!

The storyline, the flow of the words and the smells are all awesome and we have all been entertained by it on several occasion, it gets the kids (and the grown ups) giggling every time!

I am certain Dr Duck will come out as soon as the kids uncle comes over this weekend, they will no doubt want to share the Gorillas troubles and I know Uncle N will love it too!dr duck 2

It has made us all laugh a lot, and we are sure it will remain a firm favourite for quite a while!  Dr Duck really is the best doctor ever and I think he could make anyone smile!

A perfect book for a poorly child, a birthday or a Daddy!

We are a house with a love of books, from before he was two Monkey would learn books from you reading them a couple of times and recite them back to you. The one thing everyone in the house has in common is a love of reading!

That has meant that a big chunk of our family time has been spent reading books together over the years and has become a solid part of the bedtime routine!

We were sent ‘Look Out Ladybird‘ by Little Tiger Press to have a look at! A brand new Lazy Ladybird adventure whereLadybird is learning to Fly. She doesn’t take to it straight away so there is ome fun along the way!

Both The Monkey and The Mouse have loved this book, the pictures are lovely, so colourful and bold. The writing is great, flows well and provides a fun story! Mouse is nearly 3 and wants it read to her over and over! Monkey is just starting his adventure of reading by himself, he found there were words to help him practice too!

This has a firm place on the book shelf, with many bedtime reading sessions to come!

If you are looking for some books for your little one’s stockings this year I may have the answer!  Featuring some of children’s favourite characters, they are all from Egmont and are available at all good book retailers!

Everything’s Rosie – The Last SnowBall

When Big Bear wakes up from his deep winter sleep, he’s sad to find that he’s missed out on all the fun that snow can bring. Rosie and her friends do everything they can to do recreate winter fun, but sledging and snow angels don’t work without snow. Will they find a way to cheer up Big Bear?

Mr Men Meet Father Christmas

When Little Miss Tiny secretly wishes she could visit Father Christmas she doesn’t expect her wish to come true. But magical things really do happen at Christmas and crazy things too when you’re with the Mr. Men and the Little Miss! Complete with celebrating sheep, yellow snow, sneezing elves and a very sooty Father Christmas, this is another classic Mr. Men story.

Thomas and Friends – Snowy Tracks

The island of Sodor is covered in a thick blanket of snow and the engines have been told to be careful and not to go over any big hills. Gordon doesn’t listen, he’s sure that he’ll be strong enough to steam over every hill he comes to. But it isn’t long before Gordon finds out that snow is much more dangerous than it looks!

We have loved these books, they have lovely sparkly covers, perfect for the festive season. All three characters are big favourites in our house anyway and both Monkey and Mouse love a good Christmassy feel book! Easy to read, easy to hold, easy to love!

They are just the right size for the stockings and I think any child would be happy to receive them from the man in the bright red coat!
